2023 年 April 20th, Santa Clara, California -- AMD (Chaowei, NASDAQ stock code:AMD)Today announced its high performance AMD Ryzen™(Ryzen)Start supply of embedded 5000 series products,This new solution is suitable for customers who require energy-efficient processors optimized specifically for "always on" network firewalls, network attached storage systems, and other security applications. The Ryzen Embedded 5000 series has improved the AMD embedded processor product portfolio based on the "Zen 3", which also includes the Ryzen Embedded V3000 and EPYC ™ (Xiaolong) Embedded 7000 series products.
AMD Ryzen Embedded 5000 Series
The AMD Ryzen embedded 5000 series processor is built using 7 nanometer (7nm) technology, with a planned production and delivery period of 5 years, and is equipped with 6, 8, 12, or 16 cores and 24 PCIe chips ® 4 connection channels, designed specifically for enterprise level reliability, to support the continuous normal operation requirements of security and network customers. The Ryzen embedded 5000 series processors incorporate powerful reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) features, including a memory subsystem that supports error correction codes (ECC). The thermal design power consumption (TDP) range of the Ryzen embedded 5000 processor is 65W to 105W, which can reduce the overall system cooling footprint for space limited and cost sensitive applications.
Rajneesh Gaur, Vice President and General Manager of Adaptive and Embedded Computing Division at AMD, said, "The Ryzen Embedded 5000 processor provides an ideal combination of performance and reliability for 24x7 security and network applications. This extension of our embedded product portfolio provides a mid-range solution that fills the gap between our low-power BGA Ryzen embedded and our excellent EPYC embedded series, suitable for customers who require both high performance and up to 16 core scalability."
Kevin Krewell, Chief Analyst at TIRIAS Research, said, "AMD's success in the embedded market is built on providing differentiated and scalable products that can meet a wide range of applications with different power consumption, performance, and environmental requirements.". The AMD Ryzen Embedded 5000 achieves an excellent balance between power consumption and performance for applications ranging from small embedded systems to storage, security, and networking systems, making it suitable for the widest range of customer groups and use cases
The Ryzen embedded 5000 series processor provides:
Scalability with up to 16 cores and 32 threads
Up to 64MB shared L3 CPU cache
High energy efficiency TDP from 65W to 105W
Supports ECC memory and security features
24 PCIe ® 4 connection channels (using AMD X570 chipset to achieve scalable I/O for up to 36 channels)
Optimized performance provides enterprise level reliability
